I heard many times that some anti aging products don’t work as well as the companies claimed them to be.
Which affordable brands (like Loreal, Olay, Garnier, etc) of anti aging products actually work from your experiences?
I have wrinkles under my eyes and on my forehead that I need to get rid of.
I use Estee Lauder products. Im loving them but i want more opinions so i know that im getting the best. This is important to me. Im 30 years old and i think its a good time (if not sooner then i have) to be using an effective anti aging line.
I’m 29 and was wondering what kind of anti aging facial creams or therapies would be a good fit for my age group. I’m looking to prevent wrinkles and such before they start to show up as I haven’t noticed any yet (thank God!) I just want to be ahead of the game. Any suggestions?

I know alot of the phytochemicals in plants (resveratrol in grapes and falcarinol in carrots for instance) protect them for bacteria, fungi, etc. Is the e coli bacteria harmful to the spinach plant itself and if so doesn’t the plant produce chemicals to destroy it? From what I understand the recent outbreak was from contaminated soil and/or water so the bacteria is in the actual plant not on the surface of the leaves.
Mine are pinot noir (because the high resveratrol level means it’s a really great antioxidant) and beaujolais (I already get migraines and beaujolais is what I drink when I don’t want another headache ;)).

I’ve heard a lot about the ill effects mercury can have on the brain so I was wondering if Im doing this right.
I’ve been using alpha lipoic acid to mobilize mercury from the brain to the body tissues. Then I’ve been using resveratrol to transfer it to the stool. From there I mobilize the stool into a paper bag, lite it on fire, and carefully place it in front of my neighbors door.
Is this the correct way to remove mercury from the body?

Just an update. I’ve been taking soy isoflavones along with reveratrol antioxidants to lose weight…along with a healthy diet and exercise, I’ve managed to lose 10 lbs so far…and it’s only been a week and a half. So this stuff must work like they say. Just curious is anyone else has given this a try. I’m definately intrigued by this stuff…If I can lose 10 lbs that fast, imagine how much I can lose by the end of summer! Gotta keep working hard.
I’ve heard horror stories about people who have gotten locked into buying Res from an internet website that turns out to be bogus, and which continues to charge for products even when the customer tries to cancel, so I don’t think I want to go that route. I also would like to buy a supply to take overseas where I live, so the internet option won’t work for me. Any recommendations on good brands available in stores, and what stores carry good quality Res? Most internet sites are pushing their brands that can only be obtained online. I mean all the on-line companies that offer a free trial and then when you read the small print you find out that they will enroll you in a monthly delivery contract that will automatically bill your credit card unless you return the original shipment within 15 days. Don’t sound too free OR legit to me.
Another thing that bothers me is, if a major drug company has bought the patent and is still running human trials before marketing it, how is it that all these other companies are offering it to the general public?

I tried consuming resveratrol since i know it is good for anti aging. Problem is that as soon as i started taking it i started to feel light headed and as if i am going to faint. i had problems concentrating and i noticed that my veins are more visible. I also started to feel pain on my wrist and left side of my chest and that scared me, at one point my entire body started to shake. So i stopped taking it and gradually these episodes started to go away. On the other hand, even though i did not feel good while taking it, it affected somehow on the structure of my body so after each episode i looked way more proportionate (body composition). Does anybody have any info or experience with that, i am abit scared about trying it again even though i know it is basically good for the body but how come it affects me in this way?

Pinot Noir from Oregon is the best source of resveratrol, which has been proven to extend the life span of rats by 50%. (I hope it works as well for Rays as for rats.)

I just want to know one thing when was Resveratrol made? I mean what year, I heard it was fairly new.
Lots of recent reports would have it that regularly drinking red wine spiffs up your health, because of the "resveratrol" in them. After being a teetotaller for many years, I took up slurping red wines (primarily the fairly decent plonks Carlo Rossi Paisano and Chianti). I’ve been doing up large glasses of wine four times a week, each about 8 ounces. This is apparently enough for health benefits, plus people have been shown in studies to think better after moderate amounts of alcohol (with emphasis on "moderate", which obviously precludes lurching bouts of sheer drunkenness).

I’m 13. I’ve always been a little chubby, and I have been struggling to lose the last 10 pounds of fat to make me happy. Losing this weight would really boost my confidence.
So- I found these pills in my house, Resveratrol Ultra. It says that it "cleanses the body and promotes weight loss" and I read that the average user loses 17 pounds on it.
But is it safe for me to take? (Again, I am 13.) And I’m just too embarrassed to ask my mom.

I am looking for a Resveratrol-like Pyridine (or piperidine, pyrone or lactone) that will bind/activate specific sirtuins with higher affinity by having a nitrogen (or oxygen) in one of the two rings (I’m assuming in the (3?) position opposite the ethylene group) so I can see if it also extends lifespan (& look at any HDAC interactions w/ butyric acid.)
The Kavalactone yangonin is close, but (like lobelia alkaloids) has this in position (1?)
I’ve looked at some others, variations on pyritinol or metal-binding ligands, some betalain & cyanine dyes, aroma/flavor compounds, (C6H6O2/3)-isonicotinates, even ICRF 193 or Diammonium EDTA, but since

Well, based on the success of SRT1720, I may just run with amide of kavalactone as a target, see where it gets me. It’s a start.
I took Resveratrol for the first time yesterday. When I went to sleep last night, I awoke after a couple of hours to a strange quivering in my chest area. Also, I had a strange feeling throughout my entire body that felt like something "moving" just beneath my skin. (It felt kind of like when your arm goes to "sleep" and then it wakes up and feels all "tingly" but I felt that way all over.) It really freaked me out and I almost had a fear that I was "dying". I lay there for awhile, then I finally went back to sleep. When I woke up this morning, I feel really good and full of energy. Has anyone else had this strange experience? My husband takes a prescription cholesterol medication and a bunch of supplements, like fish oil, saw palmetto, grapeseed/resveratrol, spirulina, a multi-vitamin, theanine. And he drink a glass of red wine a day and sometimes 3 beers with that occasionally. Is this harmful?

it says that resveratrol is red wine extract. so does that mean that there is red wine in the drink? or is it just the components that are also in red wine?

I just purchased 1kg of 40% pure Resveratrol Powder. I was expecting a white powder. Instead, I received a brown powder with a very distinctive odor. I’m 21 year old, having higher levels of estrogen, and my questions is if it would be SAFE for a 20 year old guy to take nettle root, chrysin -anti-aromatase, resveratrol-anti aromatase, or maca root in order to boost testosterone levels and prevent any fat buildup and decrease gynecomastia.
It’s very hard for me to bulid muscle, and feel energetic. However, when I take resveratrol and maca, I can feel my waist disappering, and gynecomastia going down. When I stop, it goes back up again.
Are there any long-term side effects if I take those supplements.

I recently bought some "Pilgrims Promise " Red Wine Extract Plus. It had the word RESVERATROL top on the lable. Thats why I bought it. Later I read the ingredients disclosure on back an saw that Resveratrol was last on the list. That means that it is the smallest amount of all the ingredients. It does not tell what the actual amount is. I bought it thinking it was mostly resveratrol. I believe it is deceptive advertising and the product is probably benign and trading on the Resveratrol name. The Plus part of the formula is Grape Seed Extract and vitamin C. I feel I got ripped off. the product was purchased at CVS and is .95 for 60 capsules. The dose is described as 200 mg of red wine complex. Any thoughts on this/ or suggestions on a good source of resveratrol? and if you have benifited from taking the supplement "RESVERATROL".

I was going through some old magazines and came across an old May 2008 Woman’s World article about losing weight with 100mg daily of Soy Isoflavones and Resveratrol. I looked up blogs and articles online and a lot of people have had success with this. Has anyone here tried it? If so, what brands of the supplements did you use? the average life span of humans has doubled in the past 1000 years because of improvements in health care including everything from clean water, antibiotics, vaccines, sterile surgical environments, etc….
since we take vitamins, vaccines, antibiotics and interfere in every other way we can to extend life, would you take a pill to possibly double you life span if you could live in good health.
by the way, this is in the near future and proven to be possible.
