I am interested in buying Resveratrol. I have two questions:
I also take Tekturna 150mg. Is it safe in taking both of these together.
Secondly, i am somewhat confused about the Resveratrol. I thought it was derived from grape skins. i ordered it online and when it arrived yesterday the main ingredient was listed as "polygonum cuspidatum".
Can you clarify what Resveratrol supposed to be as I am anxious about taking these pills. Any information would be appreciated.
I reckon you are wasting your money and would rather have a glass or two of a good red wine or fresh fruit.
Read the site on the link, all it ‘may’ or ‘can’ or ‘could’ do. Not you are guaranteed it WILL.
Resveratrol is an antioxidant present in a wide variety of plants. Wine and grape juice are among the best dietary sources of resveratrol. …

For the first question, your best (and safest) bet would be to ask a pharmacist if there are any interactions listed between the drugs and supplements you’re taking. Doctors and pharmacists both have access to a database of drug and supplement interactions and they can tell you quickly if you can safely take them together or not…. anyone here will just have a best guess from searching on the internet (which isn’t always accurate, as we all know)
For the second question, Resveratrol is a nutrient that is found in a few places. It does occur in red wine grapes and grape skin, but not in very high quantity. I’ve heard several figures, but you would have to drink at least a few bottles of wine to get as much Resveratrol as say a 25 mg dose (which is comparatively small)… you can imagine how expensive that would get.
Because of the high price that would cost, most manufacturers turn to a more cost efficient source, Japanese Knotwood (aka Polygonum Cuspidatum) which is more abundant in Resveratrol. It’s similar to the fact that there is Vitamin C in oranges, apples, corn, and many other plant sources, but they are all the same Vitamin C.
Feel free to E-mail me if you have any other questions.
I cannot answer the first question - I think only a certified phicisian can answer that. As for the the second one, don’t be confused, it’s OK. Usually all resveratrol supplements have poligonum cuspidatim included.
As for the resveratrol supplements variatons, I personally recommend two of them - ResvPure and RezMelts. The first is not only a resveratrol supplement, but also a combination of a proven effective ingredients such as Green Tea and Acai Berry. RezMelts has a very high concentraton of resveratrol - 150 mg of pure resveratrol in each capsule.

It should help…
Supplementing with resveratrol is basically akin to eating grapes. I am not a doctor, but I am guessing you will be fine taking resveratrol with Tekturna. Ask your doctor to be sure.
As one other answer mentioned, polygonum cuspidatum is Japanese knotweed, which has a higher resveratrol potency than grapes. Don’t be concerned, it is just as good.
If I were you, I would try a free sample before getting a whole bottle. There is more info at the resource link, which I found in a Google search for resveratrol.
